About the Position
Join our dynamic team at Meadville Medical Center as an Emergency Registered Nurse (RN), where you will be at the forefront of providing critical care to patients in urgent situations. Your ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure will be crucial in delivering high-quality care to those in need. You will play a key role in assessing and treating patients, ensuring the best possible outcomes during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in a high-paced emergency department setting
- Provide leadership by delegating, supervising, and participating in nursing care activities performed by ancillary personnel
- Assess the effectiveness of patient care and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, families, and community services to achieve optimal patient care outcomes and discharge planning
- Provide patient and family education tailored to their needs
- Engage in unit-based quality improvement and research initiatives
- Utilize all available resources to deliver cost-effective, high-quality patient care
- Pursue professional development and educational opportunities
- Serve as a mentor or preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced staff
- Occasionally float between pediatric and adult emergency rooms based on patient census

Requirements
- Completion of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse License
- State of Pennsylvania or Compact State license
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider card
- ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire
- 6 months of nursing experience, preferred
- CEN, BTLS, and TNCC certifications, preferred
